Description

We focused this tour on the environment and the ecology of the Lake Atitlan. The reeds plants are planted by the local farmers and local people shoreside of the lake Atitlan. It’s one of the most important steps in the process of environmental program. Also, in some villages it is not allowed to use plastic anymore.

We want to be part of the environmental program through the plant of reeds because it helps and absorbs the organic nutrients and captures the trash that comes with rain in the lake. We invite you to see the process and the local reeds farmers history. You will have the chance to make your own matt or a fan with this magical plant by using our techniques.

The tour takes about 4 hours from the first step of visiting to the creation of the final product.

The adventure begins from Panajachel or Lake Atitlan area.
