Volcan Pacaya Hike
Description
Come to visit and enjoy an adventure in one of the most active volcanoes in Guatemala. High of 2500 m above sea level, its impressive environment is formed by humid forest and rocks.
To visit Pacaya National Park, climbing experience is not required, the volcano is very accessible and easy to climb. It offers one of the most breathtaking view to see the fumaroles and watch it from few meters away is a unique experience.
For this very special adventure, we pick you up at your hotel in Antigua or Guatemala City and assure the transfer by shuttle to Pacaya Volcano. From there, we begin the ascension from San Francisco village, it takes around 1 and half hour up and 1 hour for the descent. For this tour we propose you 2 options, a departure in the morning or the other one in the afternoon.
Morning Option
- 8:00 am Picking up at your hotel in Antigua or Guatemala City.
- 9:00 am Arrival at San Francisco village and begin of the ascension for about 2hrs hike.
- 12:00 pm Descent to the village.
- 1:00 pm Arrival at San Francisco village and transfer back to your hotel
Afternoon Option
- 2:00 pm Picking up at your hotel in Antigua or Guatemala City.
- 3:00 pm Arrival at San Francisco village and begin of the ascension for about 2hrs hike.
- 6:00 pm Descent to the village.
- 7:00 pm Arrival at San Francisco village and transfer back to your hotel.

The adventure begins from Antigua or Guatemala City. We will pick you up from your hotel.

Increíble ruta hasta uno de los volcanes más importantes de Guatemala
Muy buena excursión hasta la cima de uno de los volcanes que rodean el Lago Atitlán. Salvador es una persona con muchos conocimientos del lugar y de su fauna, lo que hizo la caminata mucho más interesante. Incluso tuvimos la oportunidad de avistar un pavo cornudo!

Amazing guide for an Amazing experience!
I spent several days in Guatemala and I had the opportunity to discover a beautiful part thanks to Salvador (Volcan Acatenango & Fuego, Rostro Maya, the villages of Atitlan, Chichicastenango, Volcan Atitlan, horse riding).
As soon as we made contact, Salvador was very responsive and helpful by messages. He is a very attentive guide, he knows how to put us at ease from the start of the visit. Always smiling and in a good mood!
During hikes, he adapts to our rhythm, takes the necessary breaks and always has the right word to motivate us.
Also, you will not be able to get bored with him, he has a lot of knowledge under his belt and is very open to discuss any subject.
All the tours were very well organized, with comfortable transports, good food, always a lot of information on history, culture, geology, flora, fauna, and more ...
More than a guide, he is a very beautiful and inspiring person, with lots of advice!

Amazing Time with Salvador
Salvador was way better than we could have imagined. He was incredibly knowledgeable and sincerely humble. We felt honored to receive even a portion of his knowledge. Amazing guide, spectacular views, newly engaged couple.
We did the overnight hike, camping on the summit, and waking up for sunrise. Salvador was amazing - really helpful for the hike, went at a good pace and then we had a amazing fire and hot drink at night. We even went to the peak to check out fuegoin the distance erupting. The hike is really tough, especially with camping gear, and so this was a perfect end to a tough climb. Couldn't recommend Salvador enough. And the morning sunrise was so special that I decided to propose to my girlfriend :)

Visita imperdible!!
Lugar hermoso, un amanecer inolvidable, un caminata tranquila de unos 45 min, es nec ir con guía ya que se camina entre cafetales. El inicio desde San Juan fue a las 4am, tomamos un shuttle y de ahí empezamos la caminata en Santa Clara como a las 5 am o poco antes. El costo fue de Q150 x persona. El guía lo contratamos con ayuda del Hotel Pamuelle su nombre es Josue aunque hay otro guia tmb famoso que siempre hace esa ruta que se llama luituy tours.

Great tour
I contacted Salvador by email because I would have one afternoon in Guatemala. Since my time was limited I knew my itinerary would not fit any set tours. Salvador was ready and willing to take me on a private tour of Guatemala.
He proposed we go to Hobbitenango because I wanted to see nature and not the city. Salvador and his driver were early to pick me up from my hotel. Our driver was excellent and I felt very safe during the long drive.

Great tour!
Had an amazing time. Glad we paid the slightly extra for this tour. We saw a lot of groups that weren’t managed well (ie. started too late and had to walk for hours in the rain, lost their guide because the groups were too big, etc). We had a great guide (he carried my backpack when I was struggling), good food (not cup of noodles stuff), thick mattresses (6” thick), and they gave us a jacket, gloves, and beanie. Highly recommend this tour!
