Description

A trekking adventure that will last 3 days and you will walk a total of 60km with the highest point of elevation at 3,837m (La Torre), it is the highest non-volcanic mountain chain elevation in Central America.

From Nebaj we will begin the hike in the region of lxil to Todos Santos. We will be wandering off the beaten track to discover uncharted mountains and the Cuchumatanes chain, where people live in remote communities. The traditional route goes through 3 zones starting with the region Maya lxil, then we will meet a Mayan Mam community in the area of Chaplaincy La Ventosa. After that we will walk up to Todos Santos, a mountain chain that is hardly visited in Guatemala featuring many green valleys of pine trees, fir, juniper, oak and madrone. This particular region was the most affected during the civil war (a civil war which lasted 36 years). The memories of the massacres and disappearances still play on people’s minds to this day.

The Todos Santos trek is a very unique and cultural experience, you will witness a lot of untouched beauty and learn about the traditional remote mayan communities.

The adventure begins in Panajachel, where we will pick you off from your hotel.
